Ari Lichterman is an associate at Luchansky Law, where he advises employers and organizations on a wide range of employment and business matters. His practice focuses on employment litigation, workplace disputes, contract negotiation and interpretation, and strategic counseling to help employers navigate complex legal and operational challenges.
Before joining Luchansky Law, Ari served in the Maryland Office of the Attorney General, where he held several senior roles, including Deputy Chief in the Higher Education Division. In that role, he served as lead counsel on complex employment, civil rights, constitutional, and tort matters for Maryland’s public institutions of higher education, including the University of Maryland. Before that, Ari represented the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services, where he provided strategic counsel on statewide procurements, contract negotiations, and bid protests, while also defending complex civil rights, tort, and administrative litigation.
Prior to his work in Maryland, Ari spent more than five years with the New York City Law Department, where he defended the New York City Police Department and other City agencies in federal civil rights litigation, and spent a few years in private practice.
At Luchansky Law, Ari draws on his extensive government and litigation background to provide practical, results-driven counsel to employers facing workplace disputes, and works closely with clients to develop strategies that protect their businesses, manage risk, and resolve disputes efficiently. Ari also contributes to the firm’s thought leadership by writing regularly on employment law topics such as restrictive covenants and litigation strategies.
When he is not working with clients, Ari enjoys spending time with his wife and four children and remains actively involved in his community.
